John Ortega

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our son John Ortega. John was born in Louisville Ky. on October 18, 1987 , to parents Anne and Danny Ortega Jr. He was the middle child in our family of three children. John was raised in Douglas, Az. where he lived a mischievous life surrounded by a large, loving family, many cousins and friends. John graduated from Douglas High School in 2006. After a stint in the US Marine Corp, John attended Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Institute in Scottsdale Az. inspired by a love for cooking, he worked at several restaurants in Arizona along with a multitude of other jobs. John called Tucson home where he had many friends.

John was a very intelligent, witty and generous person. He loved regaling his friends, family and roommates with jokes and impressions. His Scottish accent was his favorite.  John had a life long love of food and cooked for anyone, anytime. And cooked deliciously, I might add. John was loving and kind. He was a wonderful son, brother, brother in law and uncle. He will be sorely missed!

John is survived by his parents, Anne and Danny, his sister Jamie, brother David, sister-in-law Kirsten, niece Bethany, nephew Travis and a large extended family. We all love you to the moon and back John.
