It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Julian Picasso Tanabe. On
September 9, 2024, we lost a cherished son, brother, grandson, tio, nephew and friend at the young age
of 24.
Julian was born on July 3, 2000, to Julio Cesar Tanabe Sr. and Jessica Castillo. He was a bright
light in the lives of those who knew him, embodying a spirit of joy and an insatiable curiosity for
life. Julian had a profound love for being in his element, fully embracing every moment to enjoy
life to the fullest. He found immense joy in cooking and sharing his favorite dish, carne asada,
with family and friends.
As the beloved brother of Julio Cesar Tanabe Jr. (deceased), Yuriko Tanabe, Isabel Tanabe,
Giselle Clark, and Sophia Encinas; he formed unbreakable bonds with his siblings. Julian's
generosity was unmatched, always giving without hesitation and touching the hearts of all who
crossed his path.
Julian was truly ahead of his time. For over three years, he was eagerly awaited by his family.
Before he was born, he had a library of books that were lovingly read to him and countless
hours of classical music that shaped his early experiences. An attentive observer and a
dedicated listener, Julian valued connection and understanding above all.
With his passing, the world feels incredibly emptier, but we find solace in the memories he
created and the love he instilled in all of us. Those who had the honor of knowing Julian are left
with a lasting impression of his kindness and spirit. He will be missed beyond measure.
Julian Tanabe is a beacon for eternity, lighting the way for us all in the connections we shared
and the love we hold in our hearts.
