Michael Power

In the summer of 1955 Mike met Joan Worden and on December 26 they were married. In

1956 they moved to Windslow, Mike worked construction for a short time until returning home

to Bisbee where he worked for Southern Pacific Railroad as a brakeman. Then he started with

Phelps Dodge in 1957 and started his family, Lynn in 1958, Jackie in 1959, Michael, Jr., in 1961

and Danny in 1962. In 1965 he bought his 1 st ranch at Gold Gulch, just south of Bisbee, and

started running cattle while still working for Phelps Dodge. He bought 5 more small ranches

over the next 14 years, finally moving to the Escondidio Ranch on Highway 80 between Bisbee

and Tombstone and started ranching full time. They stayed there for the next 45 years until

2022. Due to Illness they returned to the Gold Gulch Ranch, next to his daughter Lynn and son-

in-law John , living there until his passing at age 87 on September 14, 2024. He is survived by

his wife Joan of 68 years, daughters Lynn Rodriquez (John), Jackie Watkins (Nathan), sons

Michael Power, Jr., and Danny Power (Bobbie), 14 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.

Services to be held Saturday, September 21 , 2024, at 1:00 pm, at St. Patricks Church, Bisbee,

Arizona. Celebration of Life to follow in the hall.
