Ruben Edmundo Villa, 77, of Naco, Sonora, passed away on March 18, 2022, after a battle with cancer. His beloved wife of 56 years, Maria Eloisa Villa, and close family were by his side.
Ruben was born in Fronteras, Sonora and spent much of his life living in Naco, Sonora. He fell in love and married the love of his life, Maria Eloisa Villa, and together they raised a family of three: Ruben, Sergio, and Milena.
Ruben retired in 2001 as a Branch Bank Manager after 40 years of service.
He was the most loving and big-hearted man. He was a present and constant figure in lives of his family and for many years would call them daily to ask about their days with genuine interest. Ruben inspired light-heartedness and humor in all of those he met; we could all count on him to make us laugh with a joke, a funny story, a witty comeback, or simply through his loving affection. Ruben’s ability to connect with people was a true testament of his personable and trustworthy character. Throughout the years, Ruben could be anywhere in the world and would bump into a long-time friend or would spend time making a new one.
He was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed watching boxing matches, telenovelas, and American movies; but above all, his passion was spending time with his many friends and family.
Ruben is preceded in death by his parents Ramón and Socorro Villa, brother Roberto Villa, and son Sergio Villa. He is survived by his wife Maria Eloisa Villa; children Ruben (Amy) Villa and Milena Villa (Eddie Miranda); brothers Ramon (Carmen) Villa, Raúl (Blanca) Villa, René Villa, Rogelio Villa; sisters Dora Lina (Albert) Acuña, María Alicia Villa; 14 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
