Saira Alvarez

Saira Luna Alvarez, age 61, a cherished daughter, sister, mother, and grandma (Abu) passed away on December 27 th , 2024. Saira was one of four children to Maria Julia Luna (Cruz) and Jose "Pepe" Coronado Luna, born on September 5th, 1963, in Douglas, Arizona. Saira was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her mother Julia Luna, siblings Marisa (Armando) Zepeda, Jose "Toro" (Melinda) Luna, and Rojelio (Angie) Luna, and her children Maila Alvarez, Dorian (Elsie) Alvarez, and Esme (Rene) Moran. Also, by her grandchildren Alia, Alexis, Jhene, Ezlynn, and Ilyanna who were the light of her life.

Saira dedicated her career to making a meaningful impact through her work in Bisbee, Arizona. She was a guiding force at Ppep Tech High School, where her compassion and insight left a lasting impact on countless students. Later, as an Administrative Assistant in the Public Works Department for the City of Bisbee, she earned the admiration and affection of her colleagues and the community through her kindness and positive spirit.

Saira's life was filled with passions that reflected her vibrant spirit. She loved capturing precious family moments through photography, curating a collection of timeless 1970's music, dancing with pure joy, and creating memories with her children and grandchildren. Her infectious laughter and gentle humor made her a source of light to everyone who knew her. She will be remembered as a woman of extraordinary warmth, resilience, and generosity.

Though she is no longer with us, Saira's spirit will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate to know her. Her family invites all who loved her to join in celebrating her remarkable life. Services will be held on Saturday, January 18 th , 2025, at Saint Bernard's Catholic Church with a Rosary being recited at 10:30 am followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 am. The burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery at 12:30 pm. A celebration of life will be held at the Luna Residence in Pirtleville, Arizona.
